It's nearly Spring Newsletter - kids are getting creative

Writer's picture: Judy BartkowiakJudy Bartkowiak

I've been trying hard to enjoy winter. I've been reading Wintering by Katherine May and wanting to believe that this is nature's resting time where we can cosy up to a log fire with a book and enjoy the equivalent of preserving our energy ready for the sprouting of new leaves and new life. However, I've actually found this quite hard. We live in a very draughty old house so I'm mostly cold and live in so many layers with a heated throw over my legs. I'm fed up with all the rain and the dark mornings and afternoons were really getting me down. But now.............the mornings are lighter and as we see the snowdrops and crocuses popping out all over the garden, I am feeling Spring is almost here. Almost!

So what new things are sprouting in the NLP & EFT Kids garden?

Nothing!

I'm actually very happy with what I'm doing and what I'm offering my clients, readers and students. That's a good feeling. I feel confident and proud of what I do. I realise not many people feel this relaxed about their business so maybe there was something happening over winter after all!

I'm grateful for you all and would love to know how I can improve what I offer.

I'm aware that not many of you visit my shop and look at my books and freebies. I'd love to know why. I am also curious about the low numbers accessing my training. So what I thought I'd do was make an offer to you. If you would review my website and in particular those areas - training and books, I will send you a signed copy of one of my latest books

I welcome constructive criticism and know I can trust you to help me improve those two sections of my website.

So what am I working on right now?

I am updating the Engaging NLP series of Workbooks.

£5 each in the shop
£5 each in the shop

So the price is reduced to £5. There won't be significant change to the content but I'm changing the covers and the size. I'm adding in some EFT as well.

There is a new Engaging NLP workbook for the Early Years which I'm just in the middle of now so if you know anyone with preschoolers, I'd love some feedback of what I've got so far. Anyone doing that for me and also for NLP for Sport (target age 11-18yrs) will get a signed copy of the final book.

Clients? Well I'm seeing a lot of school anxiety, kids not wanting to go into school, not enjoying school and parents worrying about this of course.

Another thing I've been noticing is how receptive parents are to play and art therapy for all ages through to late teens. It seems they've tried talking therapies and want a more creative gentler approach where their children and teens can express their feelings using techniques such as tapping, lego model building (trust, happiness, confidence - and the blocks to these ) expressive art, crystals and picture tapping. They are at last realising that Reiki is not just for them! Reiki can be enormously helpful for anxiety and to calm neurodiversity, fears and trauma. It's a great 'reset'.

So that's my work update.

On a personal note my eldest is having a baby soon and my elder son and family are returning to UK soil after 10 years in Australia so suddenly this year I will have three grandchildren living locally which means that I will be cutting down on my weekend therapy sessions so I can be with them. Although I will continue volunteering with Marlow Wheels for All which gives me such joy to see children with so many difficulties, cycling round the track near Marlow on various three and four wheeled bikes.

So that's all from me for now.
